About
Find out if dyslexia is impacting your child’s ability to read
Dyslexia could be a factor in your child’s academic challenges.
Our clinicians assess children for dyslexia during our comprehensive psycho-educational or school neuropsychological evaluations. This allows us to provide a more complete picture of who your child is as a learner.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
Our in-depth evaluation doesn’t just determine a diagnosis. It identifies the foundational components of what your student is struggling with so we know where to target intervention.
We are able to diagnose dyslexia so your child can receive the support and accommodations they need at school and in the community.
Your child deserves the best, so we provide helpful recommendations and referrals for support based on what we discover during the assessment.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR CHILD’S EVALUATION
Let’s talk about your concerns and what kind of evaluation would be most applicable to your child’s situation. We understand that most families have not been through this process and are seeking guidance.
Our assessment depends on your child’s specific situation but typically involves meeting with your child for multiple in-person sessions and interviewing parents and other adults who spend time with your child.
We provide a comprehensive report within two weeks of completing all aspects of the assessment. We’ll schedule time for a thorough review of the report with you and answer all your questions.
We create a path forward for your child with recommendations to the highest-quality, trusted providers within our practice or in our community so they can get the best support as quickly as possible.

This type of assessment is typically offered by practices that are considered out-of-network providers. We will provide a Superbill with CPT codes that are often reimbursed to some extent for this service. You can then check with your insurance company to see whether they will cover part or all of the assessment.
Please see our Billing & Insurance page for additional information.Â
We typically spend two sessions with your child, lasting 2 to 3 hours each. We also interview the parents and potentially teachers or other professionals working with the child to get a comprehensive understanding.Â
We meet to review the report together, answer questions, and provide helpful recommendations for therapies, professionals to follow up with, and community resources.

We were looking for support in understanding Jenna as a learner, Jana provided us with a comprehensive picture of Jenna as a learner. Jana supported us in identifying all the tools Jenna needs to be successful in the foundational years in her educational journey. Jana took time to connect with Jenna and create a space Jenna felt confident in. The assessment has guided how our family approaches support for Jenna and has empowered Jenna in how to use her resources to persevere with her learning. Parent of 2nd grader.
