About
Determine if ADHD is impacting your child’s success in school.
ADHD may be one piece of the puzzle behind your child’s learning challenges.
Our clinicians typically assess children for ADHD during our comprehensive psycho-educational or school neuropsychological evaluations. This allows us to provide a more complete picture of who your child is as a learner.
In some cases, it may be appropriate to do a standalone test for ADHD. We’re happy to discuss your child’s needs and help you select the proper assessment.
ADHD, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects both children and adults.
Kids with ADHD often struggle with maintaining attention, regulating their impulses, and managing hyperactivity.
Some common signs include:
Recognizing and understanding these signs is crucial for getting your child the help they deserve.
Usually, as part of a psychoeducational evaluation, we assess whether ADHD is a factor in your child’s learning. This process helps us decide if a diagnosis of ADHD is appropriate and how it impacts their education. Our licensed educational psychologists conduct these evaluations. They examine students for learning differences, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and other factors as part of the comprehensive assessment. You might hear this type of assessment, also referred to as a school neuropsychological evaluation. The findings from this assessment inform the development of an intervention plan, support for IEP or 504 plans, and provide clarity for the child and family.
By offering deep insights into your child’s learning process, we unlock the door to real, actionable solutions. This approach empowers your family to navigate their educational journey with confidence.
We can provide a clinical diagnosis, if appropriate, that can help you access resources in your child’s school and the community to help them thrive.
We empower you with trusted recommendations and referrals for services that can help your family. You’ll navigate the complexities of your child’s learning and developmental journey with confidence.
Let’s discuss your concerns and determine if an assessment is the appropriate next step. There are times when we recommend starting with interventions rather than assessment.
The assessment, tailored to your child’s age, typically includes speaking with your child, observing their behavior, interviewing key people in their lives, and conducting standardized tests.
We provide the comprehensive evaluation results within three weeks of completing testing. We’ll schedule a time for a thorough review of the evaluation with you and answer your questions.
We create a path forward for your child, from helpful school accommodations, community resources, and referrals to trusted professionals if needed.

This type of assessment is typically offered by practices that are considered out-of-network providers. We will provide a Superbill with CPT codes that are often reimbursed to some extent for this service. You can then check with your insurance company to see whether they will cover part or all of the assessment.
Please see our Billing & Insurance page for additional information.
A psycho-educational assessment is conducted over two days, sessions of 3-hours each day, depending on the scope of our testing.

We meet to review it together, answer questions, and provide helpful recommendations for therapies, professionals to follow up with, community resources, and more.
We were very pleased with the work Jana did in conducting an Independent Educational Evaluation of our daughter. She was very professional and thorough in evaluating our daughter. The recommendations that she provided to the school were exactly what our daughter needed. She was tenacious in advocating for our daughter. We were very pleased with Jana, and we would highly recommend her!!

I met with Jana to talk about my son and his behaviors. Distance learning was a failure for us and my son lost a lot of confidence and really struggled with feeling down. I feel like we all have some form of PTSD from all of this. I wanted to get my son assessed because he is very bright but was having a hard time concentrating and I wanted to know more how he learned and see if an assessment could tell me more about his brain, learning style and personality traits that interfere with him being successful. Jana was SO easy to speak with and she really listened and wanted to help me. She gave me a bunch of references to follow up with to help my son and I really appreciated her openness, honest character and bubbly personality. Her office space is also very comfortable and warm. I would highly recommend her.
