Autism Testing
You have concerns.
We can help you find answers.
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a complex developmental condition that can involve persistent challenges in social interaction, speech, nonverbal communication, and restricted/repetitive behaviors.
Common Characteristics of Autism Spectrum Disorder
The characteristics can vary significantly across individuals, but some common traits include:
Difficulty with Social Interaction: Challenges in understanding and responding to social cues; difficulty in developing and maintaining relationships.
Impaired Communication Skills: Delayed speech development, difficulty in carrying a conversation, or complete lack of speech in some cases.
Repetitive Behaviors: Engaging in repetitive movements, routines, or activities; insistence on sameness and resistance to change.
Sensory Sensitivities: Over or under sensitivity to sensory inputs like sound, light, and touch.
Limited Interests: Intense focus on specific topics or objects, often to the exclusion of other activities.
Challenges with Emotional Regulation: Difficulty in managing emotions, which may result in disruptive or aggressive behavior.
Developmental Delays: Variability in cognitive and learning skills, with some individuals showing exceptional skills in specific areas and challenges in others.
It’s important to note that every individual with ASD is unique, and the presence and severity of these characteristics can vary widely. Early diagnosis and tailored support can offer significant benefits.
