Allison Qian Wang

I help individuals and their families to achieve a deep understanding of their strengths and needs, and devise a plan for their future growth. At Mind by Design, I primarily conduct neuropsychological assessments for clients who have questions about their neurodivergent profiles (e.g., Autism, ADHD, cognitive/IQ test) and mental health needs. I use English and Mandarin Chinese to provide services.

I earned my Bachelor of Science with Honors in Psychology from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and my doctorate in School Psychology from UC Berkeley. Through my work and extensive training at the Kaiser Permanente ASD Center and at 6 school districts in the Bay Area, I have gained unique experiences in serving clients with multilingual/multicultural backgrounds and/or with high-functioning Autism/Asperger. Combining these experiences with my previous research on parenting and child development, I have developed an interest in parent-mediated interventions.

In addition to practicing psychology, I have served as an instructor on psychological assessment at USF and taught education courses at UC Berkeley. Trained as a scientist-practitioner, it is important for me to stay abreast with the latest research on child development. I strive to ensure that my clients and their families are heard, well-informed, and receiving state-of-the-art services. My goal is to empower them by bringing more clarity and insight.
